Some of you grew up in the glory days of the 1970s Saturday Night Fever, The BeeGees, gas-guzzling muscle cars, OPEC embargos. And black light posters. Ah, the good old days, eh?
Back then, black light really meant soft near ultraviolet fluorescent light. Black light posters are coated with fluorescent and phosphorescent materials, and create incredible lighting effects. Ee take another look at the term "black light" because, just as disco changed into hip-hop, and 12-inch vinyl is now virtual downloads, black light is different than you remember.
This ain't your father's black light. As always, I've made it kid-friendly for you. Can you dig it, baby?
As Complicated as Rocket Science? It's Worse
BlackLight Power, Inc., in Cranbury, New Jersey, is the inventor of a new primary energy source with applications in lighting, distributed power generation, central power generation, and more. It is based on a new chemical process of releasing the latent energy of the hydrogen atom, the BlackLight Process.
And on December 11, 2008, they signed their first commercial deal.
So what the heck is it?
Simply, it's a commercially competitive, nonpolluting new primary source of energy. There's now a process to release the latent energy of the hydrogen atom (for purposes other than creating beautiful mushroom clouds in the Pacific Ocean). Using water (H2O: di-hydrogen oxide) as its fuel, Black Light Power forces the atomic hydrogen to disco dance with a catalyst, releasing energy electrons like flashes of light from the overhead mirrored ball. This energy is in the range of conventional chemical and nuclear energies. The net energy released can be over one hundred times that of combustion, and, pound for pound, is the same as burning fossil fuel in a conventional power plant or uranium in a nuclear power plant. This energy powers special electricity generators. The generators are cheap to operate, there are oceans of water available as fuel, and there's no pollution or environmental damage or health risks (yet publicly disclosed).
Dr. Randell Mills, PhD: BlackLight Power Chairman and CEO ... and Kiss-and-Tell Author
So, who are the establishment fat cats hanging out at this groovy pad when they're not strutting around in polyester leisure suits and gold chains and exposed chest hairs? Well, they sell their head honcho's book on their site: "The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Quantum Mechanics:" October 2007 Three-Volume Edition. Of course, you can get better prices on Amazon, which ranks the book in sales at #4,022,580 out of 24,518,099. Top 16% of all books! Be Afraid, Harry Potter, be very afraid.

Dr. Randell Mills has advanced the field generally known as Quantum Mechanics by deriving a new atomic theory--The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Physics (GUT-CP)--from first principles, which unifies Maxwell's Equations, Newton's Laws, and Einstein's General and Special Relativity. The central feature is that physical laws hold over all scales, from the scale of subatomic particles to that of the cosmos.
Quantum Mechanics has remained mysterious to all who have encountered it. Whereas Schrodinger postulated a boundary condition that the wavefunction goes to zero as the radius goes to infinity, resulting in a purely mathematical model of the hydrogen atom, GUT-CP was derived from known physics, i.e. Maxwell's Equations. Under special conditions, an extended distribution of charge may accelerate without radiating energy. This leads to a physical model of subatomic particles, atoms, and molecules. Equations are closed-form solutions containing fundamental constants only and agree with experimental observations.
Further, the Schwarzschild Metric is derived by applying Maxwell's Equations to electromagnetic and gravitational fields at particle production. This modifies General Relativity to include conservation of spacetime and gives the origin of gravity, the masses of fundamental particles, the acceleration of the expansion of the universe (predicted by Dr. Mills in 1995 and since confirmed experimentally), and overturns the Big Bang model of the origin of the universe.
Yeah, I know ... I didn't understand an single subatomic iota of that, either. But it really sounds impressive, doesn't it? I've got my credit card out, how about you?
Shine A Light On This, Will You?
The BlackLight Process can be made to form a hot, glowing, ionized gas called plasma (the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid, and gas) which represents a new primary light source. This is the stuff that astrophysicists check out in galaxies using their multimillion-dollar mountain top telescopes, and the stuff in your discontinued bargain basement plasma lamp.
They've developed systems that harness the power primarily as light. Prototype lighting devices comprising a cell similar to a conventional light bulb but containing a catalyst of the BlackLight Process as well as a source of atomic hydrogen have produced thousands of times more light for input power using 1% the voltage compared to standard light sources.
These results indicate the possibility of a light that could deliver the power of conventional fluorescent and incandescent lighting, but operate off of a flashlight battery for a year without an electrical connection.
BlackLight Electrical Generation
The BlackLight Process thermal power source may be ideal for interfacing with commercially available electric power generating equipment. On larger scales, the BlackLight technology is well-suited for the utility industries and can eliminate problems such as those arising from the variable regional supply and price of fuels such as coal and natural gas, the cost of building out a suitable supporting infrastructure and transmission grids, and eliminate pollution, greenhouse gas emission and other externalities.
The energy gain is well above that required to regenerate the solid fuel, and experimental evidence confirms the theoretical energy balance per weight of the hydrogen consumed of 1000 times that of the most energetic fuel known.
Environmental Benefits
The process is nonpolluting. Since the identified more-stable-hydrogen (dihydrino) molecule byproduct is stable and lighter-than-air, it cannot accumulate in the Earth's atmosphere. Thus, the enormous annual fossil fuel cost and the environmental impact to the air, water, and ground of producing, handling, and using fossil fuels may be eliminated. Radioactive waste from nuclear plants, their tremendous infrastructure costs, and security and accident risks may also be avoided. Finally, rather than pollutants, the byproducts have significant advanced technology applications.
From Black to Green
So, we have a way to produce electricity from a fuel source more abundant than coal, with no currently known side effects to us or our planet, that produces many multiples of the energy put in to create it, that can integrate and later replace electric power plants running on fossil and nuclear fuel, and that blows away the competition on efficiency - including the current Disco King: hyper energy efficient LED lighting.
And if we're truly blessed with just plain dumb luck, we won't even have to read an 500-page quantum physics instruction manual when we get our first BlackLight powered light bulb.
